Charles McCarter:
I want a BULBASAUR. There, I've said it. I think it's the
cutest Pokémon there is (Pikachu is a mouse, people! Hello!)
I want a stuffed Bulbasaur. I don't know if there is one, but if there is,
I want it.
Keith Rhee:
Bandai's GUNDAM MK-II HG KIT (import).
Available in both the benign AEUG and the menacing
Titans color scheme. The model is extremely detailed, and most parts come
pre-colored so it requires little to no painting.
Scott Frazier:
What would be the best gift for that favorite anime fan of your? The $900
laser engraved Rei (EVANGELION) crystal cube?
The $4000 full sized Yakuru (MONONOKE HIME)
stuffed animal? The Pikachu VW bug? The fully
functional car show display of Kaneda's (AKIRA)
motorcycle? Nah! Go for the $360,000 SAILOR MOON
diamond necklace that's patterned after one from the show!
The anime related thing I want most is development money. A lot of
people are bringing me interesting projects but none of them have any money.
This stuff doesn't happen for free unfortunately and I and the other people
who make anime need to eat and have places to live. (We're just too weak I
guess.) I want to do some great stuff but I need some cash to do it with.
Mark Johnson:
As has become an annual tradition, I have to pick up the 13 month
STUDIO GHIBLI CALENDAR. Containing high quality
custom artwork covering all the Ghibli movies, this makes a great gift.
Roderick Lee:
A talking ZENIGAME. In Japan, Nintendo has put
out six talking plastic Pocket Monster figures. No doubt with the ongoing
Pokémon craze here, US
versions will arrive in time for Christmas. But, in the English version,
Zenigame is named Squirtle, so the US toy will be saying
"squirtle! squirtle!" I want the original one that says "zeni zeni!"
Ivevei Upatkoon:
Uh, it's not an anime. Shiina Hekiru is a
singer/voice actress (you've probably heard her as Hikaru from RAYEARTH, or Rockman (MEGAMAN)
from the Capcom series) that has really captured my fancy this year. Her
sixth album is coming out on 1/21, her winter tour starts 1/30, and her
latest concert video goes on sale 2/20. Any of these would work for me!
Eugene Moon:
A VIRTUAL ON FIGURINE. Every working stiff
should be able to customize their cubicle at work. My
paraphernalia of choice? Poseable robot figures.
Tom Larsen:
KERO-CHAN! CARD CAPTOR SAKURA,
like nearly all Magical Girl Shows, generates tons of merchandise! Kero-chan
would make an excellent companion for Mokona.
Rika Takahashi: GUND SNUFF/SNUFFLES. I have
a whole family of them but I still can't get enough. They're always there for
you to gripe about work/school/life/etc, and they are really really soft and
cuddly. And they rest perfectly on the top of your
head! |
